ADVENTURE AND CHALLENGES

There is an adventure activity or special challenge for everyone - no matter what age or stage! Professional Instructors are on hand and many activities are DIY. Packages & programs can be devised to give you the perfect mix for your group. Also find other challenges off the property.




Abseiling/ Climbing/ Flying Fox

Set among the tall Jarrah trees, the 10 metre wooden tower provides participants with a challenging climb and a chance to be among the tree tops. Participants are shown safety procedures and instructed in the use of equipment by competent instructors. The flying fox is recommended for primary students while abseiling is recommended for adult/upper school. Flying fox students are fully harnessed. Two qualified instructors are provided. Canoeing

A short walk or drive takes participants to Baden Powell Water Spout where they are introduced to basic water safety, personal safety, equipment and the basics of paddling a Canadian canoe. Mountain Biking

THE CASE OF THE MISSING BIKE
• A local scoundrel has snitched a bike and left a series of clues to help locate it. Participants ride mountain bikes and, by following the clues, not only recover the stolen bike part by part but discover the local scoundrel to boot. Distance about 9 kms. Teacher supervision option, ask about conditions.

DISCOVER DWELLINGUP BY BIKE
• A self guided tour of local points of interest. Visit the Dwellingup History and Visitor Information Centre, the Pharmacy Museum, Hotham Valley Railway, Forest Heritage Centre and POW Camp. Visit a working orchard or maybe ride the Marrinup Forest Tour and picnic along the way. Bikes are collected from and returned to Dwellingup Adventures' town office. Low Ropes Activities 'Jarrah Jungle Gym'

A series of swinging, climbing, hoisting and balancing activities designed to burn up some energy and you'll have heaps of fun doing it too. Instructor costs only, plus ropes course hire fee.




Posers & Predicaments

A series of problem solving activities and a chance to look at the teamwork model in depth. We demonstrate by practical application effective communication, strategies and planning and leadership models.



Fast/Flat Water Rafting

A short walk or drive takes participants to Baden Powell Water Spout where they are introduced to basic water safety, personal safety, equipment and the basics of paddling a two person tube raft. Raft Riot

Located at Baden Powell Water Spout or Woodshed Swimming Pool. Participants are introduced to basic water safety, personal safety, equipment and the basics of paddling a two person tube raft. Raft Rescue

Students are supplied with barrels, poles, tubes, ropes and paddles. They must construct a raft and 'rescue' a stranded mariner. Buoyancy vests are supplied with activity.


White Water Rafting

Genuine white water suitable for year 10s and above. Grade 2 and 3 rapids. Price on appllication. June to October only.


You Win I Win Games

A series of non competitive co-operative activities where everybody wins. Focuses on team-work and common goals. Ideal ice breaker activities. Instructor costs only.


Camp/Bush Craft

Innovative practical lessons on all of the camp craft skills required to live in safety and comfort in the bush. First aid, camp cooking, navigation, water procurement, equipment and minimal impact camping. Instructor costs only


DIY (Do It Yourself) Activities

Dwellingup Adventures introduce a number of activities with a DIY Option. You can still use a Dwellingup Adventures staff member, however you have the option of running the activity yourself. Each activity includes all material, activity explanation, delivery and collection from site and any associated safety equipment. Orienteering/ Quest 'Guide Me Home'

Participants follow the trail using a map and compass. The task is to locate all the lost animals and stamp them on your landscape in their preferred home environment. Maps, compasses, stamps, clues, landscape all provided.


Distance/ Direction Worksheets

Upper and lower school worksheets available. Worksheets, compasses, clipboards and pencils provided.


Lost On Mt. Nanga

Students read they have crash landed on Mt Nanga but fortunately find an old jelly bean miner's camp. They need to construct a shelter. Poles, ropes, star pickets, hammer and covers provided.


Compass Wheel

Students commence at the wheel's hub and a bearing takes them to a lettered post. Another bearing takes them to another until each bearing has a letter. The wheel is about 100 metres across and 6 courses are available.


Giant Games

A series of larger than life games using giant dice, balls, quoits, etc. Based on a Mini Olympic format, each team rotates around up to 8 different activities. Caters for up to 70 students in teams. We supply all activities, score sheets etc. Ideal for evening or indoor winter activity.


Radioactive Rescue

Using the low ropes course elements and in teams of about 10 participants must attempt to recover the radioactive Jewell and return with it in the special protective liquid. A challenging quest with a number of obstacles to test teamwork and concentration block the path. One slip and the team falls prey to giant spiders, bottomless caverns or deadly lava flows. Add ropes course hire fees in addition to DIY activity costs.
